Dr. Kathryn Waters is a native of northern Wisconsin, a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. She first arrived in California for extensive training at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center. Non-profit work has been a key component of her career, including two years of service as the first optometrist for the "See Well to Learn" program with Prevent Blindness Northern California.
After fifteen years in the Bay Area, Kathryn followed her heart to beautiful Montecito. She offers a vast array of knowledge and proficiencies in vision care to our community. Over the years, she has transitioned from a traditional optometry practice to a consultant based offering that utilizes a "food first" philosophy to optimize ocular health through whole body wellness.
As a certified personalized nutrition practitioner and natural chef she cooks and creates recipes that are intentionally nutrient dense. Kathryn's kitchen, affectionately known as the Red Boot Kitchen, prioritizes organic, regenerative, and biodynamic ingredients to maximize dietary and environmental benefits while also ensuring that the food she shares is as beautiful as it is delicious.
